📦 The Workshop: packs other people wrote
A pack is creator content as data: a cast (four named rivals with their own kinds and chat lines), an era script (events on the forty-era clock, each with an effect the game already knows), a livery (the paint on every building, by job) and a scenario (a seed that binds the three together with a named ending). Model packs — a creator's own buildings in place of the standard kit — work as of v0.89: the pack carries each model's checksum, the Workshop stores the files and checks them, and the game loads them in place of the kit. The contract is in the Blender kit. Two packs ship with the game: the Ashfall Compact paints the standard kit, the Lantern Accord brings its own. The rest live on the shelf under Settings → Legacy & Workshop — everything a moderator has passed, one tap to install, no account needed. Every download is checked against its checksum before it is kept, and then read by the same validator again. A pack from a file still works too.
- Parts are chosen for the next universe — a running one never changes under you. A scenario brings its own cast and era script.
- A pack is data, never code: colours, text, numbers and models. Nothing in a pack is an advantage — anything that changes how a universe plays is free, and only a livery or a set of models may be sold.
- A livery is yours across every universe once unlocked: ✦40, a legacy voucher, a gift from a commander — or earned by finishing the pack's own scenario.
- A commander can gift a livery to the outpost on the same account (✦10); the phone finds it on its next sync.
- The same packs run on the phone, cut to what an outpost can use.
